The Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race (GCBSR) is a celebrated annual event that brings together traditional sailing vessels to compete and commemorate the rich maritime heritage of the Chesapeake Bay. With over three decades of history, the race draws national attention from sailors, spectators and supporters of classic sailing vessels.
About YB Tracking
To enhance race safety, transparency and spectator engagement, we use YB Tracking devices—satellite-connected transponders that provide live, real-time vessel positions throughout the 130-mile course from Baltimore, MD to Norfolk, VA. This data is publicly viewable and heavily trafficked during the event via our race tracker page, which receives thousands of views during race week.
